Inner Strength Autoimmune Disease Awareness

There’s no doubt that people who suffer from autoimmune diseases deal with struggles on a day to day basis. A lot of the time these struggles can be invisible to those around them making it more difficult to understand. That is why Color Street created the Inner Strength autoimmune disease awareness nail polish strips. This glittery design features multicolored ribbons to wear your support on your nails.

Inner Strength Autoimmune disease awareness design launches Tomorrow 3/2/21 @ 10:30am CT. Get yours here.

While there are so many different autoimmune diseases all worthy of support, Color Street has chosen 4 different organizations to donate to. Previously a portion of sales of the special nail polish strip would go as a donation, but now the Color Street Foundation simply pledges a donation amount. There is a total of $150,000 being donated to 4 different organizations during the month of March for Inner Strength autoimmune disease awareness.

Lupus Research Alliance

Lupus is a chronic and complex autoimmune disease that affects many different areas of the body and there is currently no cure. There is estimated to be 1.5 million Americans living with Lupus with at least 5 million people worldwide. Color Street has chosen the Lupus Research Alliance to receive $60,000 to help continue their efforts to find a cure. This organization is the largest non-governmental and non-profit funder of Lupus research worldwide. Making sure they have the funds to continue their research is important! Bay Area Lyme Foundation

Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne infectious diseases in the world with over 400,000 new cases in the US each year alone. You may be wondering why Lyme disease made its way into an autoimmune disease awareness pledge, but it in fact can lead to many different autoimmune diseases (RA, Sjogren’s, dermatomyositis, etc) especially when left untreated. And knowing you have been bitten by a tick is half of the battle.

Funding for Lyme disease research including diagnosis and treatment is greatly underfunded compared to other diseases. Because of that, Color Street is pledging $30,000 to the Bay Area Lyme Foundation to continue their incredible work on such a hidden disease. Y can read more about this foundation here.

National Alopecia Areata Foundation

Alopecia Areata is a skin autoimmune disease that causes hair loss typically at the scalp and face, but also can affect other areas of the body. It currently affects 6.8 million people in the US and there are many different types including severities. Since 1985, the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) has awarded 208 research grants totally more than $5.7 million. The Color Street Foundation has pledged $30,000 to find a cure! You can find more information on NAAF by going here.

Cure JM Foundation

Juvenile Myositis (JM) is a group of rare and life threatening autoimmune diseases. The primary symptoms of JM are weak or painful muscles, skin rash (with JDM), fatigue and fever. Some children experience joint pain as well. Approximately 2-4 per 1 million children are affected by JM making this quite rare and therefore lacking in funds. It’s no surprise that rare conditions receive less funding than those in the forefront. That’s why the Color Street Foundation’s pledge of $30,000 is so significant. This money will go towards finding more substantial treatments as well as a potential cure. You can learn more about the Cure JM Foundation and everything they do here.

While the particular autoimmune disease may not have been included in the monetary donation, I hope you’ll see the good by raising awareness as well. Gift this Inner Strength autoimmune disease awareness nail polish strip to the loved ones in your life that need a pick me up from their daily flares. Wear it yourself to show that you care and support them!
